Death

As Im not a big fan of death, and I know of only one other bike using this rear suspension. I decided to contact an engineer. He has been a great help in giving me all kinds of stats that I dont understand but greatly appreciate. In the end he has given me a lot of good advice that hopefully will prevent me from getting a leaf spring enema. Above is an example of his work. Thanks Adam

The Design

This is my drawing of what I would like the bike to be. After several revisions I have decided to go with a radical leaf spring rear suspension, which was taken from the Lakewood special created by Hank Young. Thanks for the idea and the advice Hank.

The way it was

I started this blog after I began the project so unfortunatley I did not take a picture of the bike before it was in pieces. However this is roughly what it looked like only plus alot more dirt and minus a few pieces

Beginning

In the beginning I found a 1972 Honda 450cb in my father-in-laws shed. At first it seemed a restoration was in order… but what fun is that? LET THE DESIGNING BEGIN!
